Progression of Variety  

 

Variety can come in many forms however what was immediately noticeable about the original design was the lack of variety in the heights of buildings. As one can see in the original masterplan only three heights have been implemented:

 

Smallest block height - 9m

 

Tallest block height - 15m

 

 

Redesigned block heights

 

In the redesign of the block five heights have been implemented. This not only provides variety within the block, giving it a less brutalist feel, but different higher have also been established to allow more light into the roof gardens (3-4m above ground level) and residences. 

 

Smallest block hight - 6m

 

Tallest block height - 17m
